Obituary for Ema Coelho (Rodrigues)
Ema (Rodrigues) Coelho, 93, of Newington, beloved wife of the late Leonidio C. Coelho, peacefully passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at The Reservoir Healthcare Facility West Hartford. Ema was born September 18, 1924 in Ludlow, MA, daughter of the late Manuel and Libania (DaSilva) Rodrigues. Ema and her family resided in the Hartford area for many years. She was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford and a member of the Portuguese Club of Hartford. Ema loved spending time with her family and friends.
She will be deeply missed by her loving family, two daughters, Lu Mello, Maria and Brian Phelan all of Newington; four adored grandchildren, Dennis Mello and his wife Rachel of West Hartford, Diane Mello of West Hartford, Paul Rodrigues of Rocky Hill, Julio Rodrigues in Florida; three cherished great grandchildren, Christopher, Jack and Olivia Mello; as well as many nieces and nephews both here in the US and Portugal. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Staff of the Reservoir for the care and compassion they extended to Ema.
Friends and family may pay their respects Friday, June 22, 2018 from 8:15 – 9:15am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Ema’s life will be 10am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Kane St. (Fatima Square), Hartford, with Fr. Jorge Tchingui officiating. Interment will follow the Mass in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section Y), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. To extend online condolences and/or share a memory, please visit farleysullivan.com.
