Obituary for Peter Zorick

Peter Zorick, 94 of Wethersfield, beloved husband of the late Edna Joe “Rebel” (Brugier) Zorick, peacefully passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at Bel Air Manor, Newington. Peter was born October 15, 1922 and raised in Hartford, one of seven children to the late John G. and Barbara (Ludinich) Zorick. He was a graduate of Hartford Public High. He served our country proudly in the US Navy during World War II. When he returned from the military, he met Rebel, they married and began their family. In 1980 they moved to Wethersfield. Prior to his retirement Peter was employed at Stanadyne for nearly 40 years, working his way up to being an “MSO” (Master of Shop Operations). After retiring from Stanadyne Peter could not sit idle, he became a Certified Gemologist and started a small appraisal business. His greatest passions were his time spent with his family and travelling to which he and Rebel travelled extensively all over the world. Peter will be dearly missed and remembered by his loving family, his two sons and daughters-in-law, Peter Michael Zorick (Nancy) of Indio, CA and Ronald V. Zorick (Diana) of Torrington; a sister and brother-in-law, Teresa “Terry” and Bruce Larue of Wethersfield; two adored grandchildren, Dawn Marie Alden (Tom) and Ronald Peter Zorick; as well as many nieces and nephews. Along with his wife and parents, Peter was predeceased by five siblings, Anne, Barbara, Rose, Steve and John. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Zorick family, Friday, May 12, 2017 from 10-11am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Peter’s life will be held at 11:30am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Interment will follow the Mass in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Oval Section), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. To extend online condolences and/or share a memory, please visit farleysullivan.com.
