Joan Aleta Wilson (Eastman), wife of James C. Wilson, passed away Friday August 11, 2017. Born Friday October 13, 1945 in Hanover, NH where she lived until she and Jim moved to Glastonbury 1968.
Joan worked in several area retail establishments retiring from Dunkin Donuts in 1994. Joan was very creative. She loved to bake, make candy (especially fudge) as well as wedding cakes. She also loved to sew, making many quilts. Joan was preceded in death by her son Michael, her mother Pauline Decatrau (Woodard), maternal grandmother Gertrude Woodard, father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Maryanna Wilson. She is survived by her husband, sons James T. Wilson and wife Theresa, Christian Wilson and fiancé Tanya Zaleski, and John Wilson and wife Kassie, grandchildren Brittany, Lisa, James, Mia, Kaitlynn, Emma, Cale, Riley and Julianna, great grandchildren Element and Annabelle. The Wilson family will receive friends and relatives at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury, Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 5-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Joan’s life will be held Wednesday, August 16th at 10:30am in Our Lady of Peace Church, 370 May Road, East Hartford, (Attendees are asked to go directly to the church).
