Business, Bushido and Beer.

Dr. Griffith taught business at either CCSU or Tunxis in 1981-1984 which is where I met your dad/husband. We got to know each other and established a rapport which included the martial arts and how his son was involved with karate as was I. He would rub his cheek and shake his head when talking about his son and his involvement with karate. I got the impression he was'nt so sure about the commitment or outcome?. Not sure about the styles either, (Japanese, Chinese or Korean) or where his son was living at the time but I do remember our similar interests. Somewhat sketchy about the following details but nevertheless I told him I was working at a restaurant called, "Beefsteak Charlies" in Rocky Hill. This eatery was notorious for the, "All the beer you can drink". "All the shrimp you can eat" .etc. One evening Dr. and his wife and daughter or daughter's showed up and sat at my table. I made sure the beer was cold and the shrimp was plentiful... I got a good tip and a B+. Never met his son but I continued well into my 40's studying and kept in mind that college course in business and who he was which was a smiling, kind, fair and down to earth guy. Some people were absolutely fascinated with my story and others could care less. Last night I just finished season one and two of "Cobra Kai" and read the details for the third season. Looking forward to Thomas Ian Griffith and the back story in the movie. That's all folks and I hope I did'nt bore you. Rest in Peace Doc. Vince
