Violet (D’Almieda) Dondi, 92 of Glastonbury, beloved wife of the late Vincent C. J. Dondi, peacefully passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at The Atrium of Rocky Hill. Violet was born May 9, 1924 in Swansea, MA, daughter to the late Germano and Evangelina (Victorhino) D’Almieda. She grew up in Hartford, attended Hartford Schools, graduating from Hartford Public High School, Class of 1942. Violet and her family resided in Glastonbury for over 59 years, where she was employed before retiring for the Town of Glastonbury working in various positions at the Police Department and the Town Hall. She was a devout member and communicant of St. Augustine Church, South Glastonbury. Violet would help anyone in need, especially when it came to her family. She was an Administrative Assistant for her husband Vincent’s business Dondi Services and for her daughter Barbara at the Barbara Dondi Saraceno School of Dance. Violet’s favorite pastimes included traveling, RV’ing and camping and most importantly spending time with her cherished family. Violet will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her four daughters and their spouses, Barbara and Salvatore Saraceno of Odessa Florida, Diane Payne of Meriden, Marion and James Burke Sr. of Manchester, Betty-Jean and Gregory Lane of Glastonbury; adored grandchildren (and spouses), Rosanna and Michael Woldridge, Sebastian Saraceno, Jeremy and Heather Payne, Scott and Erin Payne, Lisa and Jeremy Boyle, Tiffany Burke, James Burke Jr., Vincent Burke, Ryan Burke, Shannon Burke, Colton Lane, Evan Lane; cherished great grandchildren, Alexis, Isaac, Ian, Emma and James; as well as her sister, Esther Davies of South Windsor. In addition to her husband and parents, Violet was pre-deceased by her two brothers, Ermond D'Almieda and Everett D'Almieda. Friends and relatives may call on the family, Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 4-7pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave., Glastonbury. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Violet’s life will be held Wednesday, December 21st at 10am in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury (attendees are asked to go directly to the church). Interment will follow the Mass in Green Cemetery, 77 Hubbard St., Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of CT, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
