Obituary for William Curtin

William Patrick Curtin, 90, a resident of Wethersfield, CT for 53 years, passed away on December 9, 2016. He was the husband of the late Mary (Dungan) Curtin. Born in Middletown, CT, on April 12, 1926, he was the son of the late William and Sarah (McIntyre) Curtin. Bill was a graduate of Middletown High school, (’43) and the Morse School of Business. He was employed by the State of Connecticut for over forty years, working primarily in the Unemployment Compensation Division of the Department of Labor. He was a field representative for many years and retired as a supervisor in that agency. After his retirement, Bill became a Deputy Sheriff / Serving Officer for Hartford and Litchfield Counties. Bill leaves a son and three special grandchildren, Timothy Curtin and his wife Janemarie Murphy and their children, Brigid and Aidan Curtin, all of West Hartford, and Katherine (Katie) Curtin of Portsmouth, NH. Bill is also survived by a sister, Maureen Molloy, and her children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Bill was predeceased by a son, Kevin Curtin, and a sister, Sally Curtin. Bill was proud of his Irish heritage. The Curtin family would like to extend thanks to the staff of West Hartford Health & Rehabilitation Center. All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Bill's funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield.
