Life Story for Robert M. Leonard

Robert M. Leonard, 80, of Marlborough, CT, passed away peacefully, Monday (May 2, 2016) at Hartford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Penny (Holloway) Leonard for 59 years. He was born in Scranton, PA, son of William and Agnes (Gerron) Leonard on March 5, 1936.
He served in the US Army Reserve at Fort Dix, NJ, and married his high school sweetheart, Penny, from Hall High School in West Hartford. Prior to his retirement, Robert was a Connecticut Judicial Marshall. As the world’s best father, grandfather, brother, devoted husband, wonderful friend, and neighbor he will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Robert loved his family and enjoyed fishing, gourmet cooking, and was an avid car enthusiast. . He was a man of great integrity and strong work ethic, always seeking the best for his family and loved ones.
He is survived by his wife, two sons, Wayne Leonard and his wife Julia of Parkland, Florida, Scott Leonard and his wife Kimberly of Rocky Hill; a daughter, Jill Leonard and her fiancée Timothy Lockenvitz of Wethersfield; six grandchildren, who he loved dearly, Michael, Hailey, Christopher, Erika, Nathaniel and Kailee; one brother, William Leonard of Madison; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Friends may call on the family Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 8:30am to 10:00am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Memorial Service celebrating Robert’s life will be held at 10:00 am in the funeral home. To extend online condolences, please visit Farleysullivan.com.
