Jozef Pietraka, 81, husband of Marianna (Zalewska) Pietraka, of Wethersfield passed away Tuesday November 17, 2015 in Hartford Hospital. He was born in Poland, son of the late Stanislaw and Rozalia (Skrapka) Pietraka. Jozef moved to the United States with his family in the early 1980’s.He was self employed. He loved doing crosswords and gardening. Jozef loved spending time with his family and always had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. Besides his wife of 56 years , he leaves a daughter, Marzanna Rogowski and her husband Janusz of Rocky Hill, two sons, Zbigniew Pietraka of Hartford and Dariusz Pietraka of Wethersfield and five grandchildren, Marek Pietraka, Nicole Rogowski Amanda and her husband Ryan Holden, Christopher Rogowski and Maximillian Rogowski. Jozef also leaves a sister, Zofia Rzeczkowska, a sister-in-law Zofia Pietraka, and several nieces and nephews, all of Poland. He was pre-deceased by a brother Jan Pietraka and a sister Ludwika Dzieciol.
Friends may call from 5-8 pm TODAY at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. The funeral will be held Friday November 20, 2015 at 9:15 am from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in SS Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Court, Hartford.
