Margaret Mary "Peggy"  Ayres
Margaret Mary “Peggy” Ayres, 94, a lifelong resident of Wethersfield, daughter of the late John and Mary (Waldron) Ayres passed away peacefully Wednesday June 24, 2015 filled with the love and support of her family. Peggy was extremely devoted to her family, friends, Catholic faith, and her Irish heritage. Peggy is survived by her beloved brother, Thomas M. Ayres, Sr. , and his wife Eva, and their family. She was an extremely generous and loving aunt throughout all of her life to Thomas M. Ayres, Jr., James Ayres, Sharon Hulse and her husband Jon, great nieces Sara DiCicco and her husband Michael, Meghan Hulse, and her fiancé Kevin Millard, and Samantha D’Amato. Peggy adored her great, great niece and nephews Michaela, Jon, and Ryan DiCicco. She cherished her special, extended family members and friends who also enriched the fullness of her life, especially Holly Maurice. She was predeceased by her brother John and her sister Kathryn McGrath. Peggy was a dedicated executive secretary employed by the Fuller Brush Company and Northeast Utilities. She was a faithful Friendly Visitor for the town of Wethersfield. Calling hours will be held Sunday, June 28th from 2 - 5 pm at the Farley Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 29th at 10am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section J), 1 Cottage Grove Rd. Bloomfield. Memorial donations in Peggy’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 or donors@stjude.org. Thank you to all who provided care for Peggy at Avery Heights and Hartford Hospital.
