Anna “Anne” (Giamatti)Schnetzler, 94, lifelong Hartford resident, beloved wife of Edward J. Schnetzler passed away peacefully Saturday March 15, 2014 at Hartford Hospital. Born November 25, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Lucy Giamatti. She attended and graduated from the Hartford School System. Prior to her retirement, Anna was employed by the City of Hartford, in the Social Services Department for many years. She was a communicant of St. Luke’s Church. Along with her husband, Edward, Anna will be fondly remembered by her family; two brothers-in-law, Robert Schnetzler, and Kenneth “Ken” Stuer, both of Wethersfield; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Giamatti in FL; two nieces, Janine Giamatti, Lucy Kinnane and her husband Tom, all of Newington; two nephews, Nick Giamatti and his wife Debbie, of Big Pinekey, FL, John Testa and his wife Marcia, of Enfield; as well as many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Anna was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses, Lawrence and Andrew Giamatti, Genevieve and Frank Lauter, Louise and Louis Testa, and two sisters-in-law Joan (Schnetzler) Stuer, and Florence Giamatti. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Schnetzler family Monday, March 17, 2014 from 4-6pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Anna’s life will be held Tuesday, March 18th at 10am in St. Luke’s Church, 66 Bolton Street, Hartford. Interment will follow the Mass in the family plot in Rose Hill Memorial Park (Section 28), 580 Elm Street, Rocky Hill.
