Obituary for Normand P. Therrien

Normand P. Therrien, 65, of Wethersfield, loving husband of 45 years to Freida (Garrett) Therrien, peacefully passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Middlesex Hospital, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Normand was born December 17, 1953, and raised in Middletown, one of eleven children to the late Lionel and Paulina (Morneault) Therrien. He attended and graduated from the Middletown School System. Normand went on to serve our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam area. While at Ft. Meade in Maryland, Normand met Freida, they were married January 26, 1974, at which time he was deployed to Korea.
After being honorably discharged from the military, Normand and Freida resided in Ellijay, GA where he became a Police Officer and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, serving as President of the lodge. They relocated to Wethersfield, where they have resided for over 20 years. Normand’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family who will miss him deeply.
Along with his wife Freida, Normand will be remembered by a son Andy Therrien and Valerie, of Manchester; two daughters Shylock Catina Therrien of Wethersfield and Karli Sutton; an adored granddaughter Morrigan Therrien, of Wethersfield; his ten siblings and their spouses, Ronald and Theresa Therrien, Rene and Linda Therrien, Maurice and Marlene Therrien, Larry and Nancy Therrien, Donald Therrien, Ernest and Renee Therrien, Denise and Noel Wilson, Michelle and Brian Petterson, Jeannine and Frank LaCapra and Collette Therrien and Sean Bradshaw; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance Service, celebrating Normand’s life will be held at a later date.
