Obituary for Marilyn Tamosunas (Meseth)
Marilyn (Meseth) Tamosunas, loving wife of the late Francis A. “Frank” Tamosunas, who predeceased her in 2006, peacefully passed away, Sunday, April 28, 2019. She was born in Methuen, MA, September 29, 1931, the daughter of the late Fred and Catherine (McCue) Meseth.
Marilyn graduated from Lowell State Teachers College, now UMass at Lowell. She then received a Master’s Degree in Education from Boston University.
Marilyn began her teaching career in Methuen, and after receiving her degree from B.U. with Specialization in Speech & Hearing, she was employed by the New Britain School Department. Later, she returned to MA and did Speech therapy in the Belmont, MA schools.
In 1964, she married Frank Tamosunas, they returned to Connecticut where she was a Special Education Tutor for the Wethersfield School System.
Marilyn was active in her community, a faithful communicant of the Church of the Incarnation, as well as a member and past President of its Women’s Club, along with being the President of the Emerson Williams P.T.O. She also volunteered at various times at Read to Succeed and Jubilee House.
Marilyn leaves their son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Elizabeth Thompson and their children Ian and Olivia; their daughter and son-in-law, Gale and Eric Hamman and their children Margot and Emmett.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects to Marilyn and her family Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 5-7 pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Marilyn’s life will be Friday, May 3rd at 10 am in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Inurnment will follow the Mass in Village Cemetery (Willard Section), Marsh St., Wethersfield.
