Obituary

James T. “Pa” Ayers, 59 of Wethersfield, passed away March 14, 2019 in Hartford Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born in Hartford, son of the late John and Alice (Roath) Ayers on November 10, 1959. Jim was a graduate of South Catholic High School and later attended Central Connecticut State University. Prior to his retirement, he was a Truck Driver for Hartford Distributors. Jim enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid golfer and loved his gardens and pool. “Uncle Pa” loved his nieces and nephews, hosting Christmas Eve and Easter Egg Hunts and took pride in having a clean pool for them. Jim was also a loving caretaker for his mother in her later years. He had a gregarious, larger than life personality and will be missed by many.
He leaves his sister, Mary Jane Galligan and her husband Bill of FL, his brothers, Charles and his wife Sarah of VT, Laurence and his wife Judith of Old Saybrook, Stephen and his wife Patty of Wethersfield and Thomas and his wife Daria of Wethersfield as well as 19 nieces and nephews and 18 great-nieces and nephews, and numerous good friends. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Hadley and his brother John Ayers and his wife Nancy.
Friends may call on Wednesday March 20, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am in Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The First Tee of Connecticut, 55 Golf Club Road, Cromwell, CT 06416.
