Obituary for Kieran Egan

Kieran Francis Egan, 83, of Berlin (formerly of Wethersfield), passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Hartford Hospital. Born January 30, 1935 in Clonaderig, Balinahown, County Offaly, Ireland, he was the son of the late Patrick and Bridget Egan. Prior to retiring, Kieran was a machinist with Wiremold in West Hartford for thirty-five years. He was a lifetime member of the Irish American Home Society in Glastonbury. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret (McHugh) Egan and by his two sons Michael P. Egan and his wife Terri of Herndon, VA. and John F. Egan and his wife Finola of Pasadena, MD. He was blessed with five loving grandchildren: Amanda, Shannen, Kathleen, Connor and Liam. He is also survived by his nephews Tony Flannery of Sarasota, Florida; Stephan Flannery of Athlone, County Westmeath and his niece Anne Flannery of Athlone, County Westmeath. He was predeceased by his sister Mary (Mamie) Flannery of Athlone, County Westmeath.
Friends may call at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield on Tuesday January 22, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM in Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Following the Mass his body will be interred in Holy Cross Cemetery, 1318 Hebron Ave Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Catholic Charities Children’s Fund, 839-841 Asylum Ave, Hartford, CT 06105-2801.
