Doris (McGuire) Boyle, 89, of Willimantic, formerly of Wethersfield, passed away November 7, 2018 in St. Joseph Living Center of Windham. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Kivney) McGuire on September 17, 1929. Prior to her retirement, Doris was an Examiner for the State of Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles for over 30 years. She liked to travel, taking numerous cruises and trips to many places including Ireland, Germany, Mexico and Alaska. She loved going to bingo with her friend Alice Young. As a single Mom, she raised 4 boys but was also the neighborhood mother, welcoming all her sons’ friends at any time. Doris never complained about anything, not wanting to put anyone out.
She leaves her sons, Kevin Boyle of North Haven, Barry Boyle and his life partner Leigh of Mansfield, Brian Boyle and his life partner Luis of Brooklyn, NY and Terrance Boyle of Willimantic. She will also be remembered by her grandchildren, Brendan, Kristen and her husband Jim, Ashley, Jennifer and James and her great-grandchildren, Brenna, Brady, Benjamin, Evelyn and Mossey, as well as her sister-in-law Frances Griffin and her husband Jack, a loving nephew Mark McGuire and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, John, Robert, Thomas, James, George, William and her sister Marian.
Friends may call on Monday November 12, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Doris’ life will be held on Tuesday November 13 at 10:00 am in Sacred Heart Church of Christ the King Parish, 56 Hartford Ave. Wethersfield. Burial will be in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ct.
