Obituary for Rosemary Torrisi (Salvan)

Rosemary (Salvan) Torrisi, 92, of Tolland, formerly of Wethersfield, loving wife of 71 years to Joseph J. “Joe” Torrisi Sr., passed away at home Tuesday, August 21, 2018 with her family at her side. Rosemary was born April 16, 1926 in Olean, NY, daughter of the late Anthony & Nellie (Bernella) Salvan. She was raised in Olean, where she attended Olean schools, graduating from Olean High School. Rosemary and Joe met in the early ‘40s and were married in 1946 residing in New York. They moved to Wethersfield in 1959 where they made their home and raised their two children, Jacalyn “Jackie” and Joseph Jr. “Joey”. In 2015, they decided to move to Tolland to live with Jackie and her husband Jim. She was a member of the Metropolitan Club, had a passion for flowers, with her greatest joy being her family and the time they shared together.
Along with her husband Joe, Rosemary will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by Joey Torrisi of Rocky Hill; Jackie and Jim Low of Tolland; two adored grandchildren, Kevin Low and his wife Barbara of Portland, and Kristy Low of Boston; two cherished great granddaughters, Gianna and Alyson Low.
Friends and relatives may call on the family Saturday morning, August 25, 2018 from 9:30 – 10:30am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Rosemary’s life at 11:00am in Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield. Inurnment will follow the Mass in Village Cemetery, Marsh St., Old Wethersfield. In lieu of flowers, a charitable donation can be made to the Tolland Public Library, Tolland Fire Department, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
