Obituary for MaryEllyn Stickley (Lenmark)

MaryEllyn Stickley, 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 13, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband, William “Bill” Stickley, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Oal J. and Margaret (Radke) Lenmark. She graduated from Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois where she earned her Master’s Degree in Journalism. MaryEllyn went on to become an elementary school teacher and then continued onto administration positions in medical education working for both Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and University of Massachusetts. MaryEllyn was an active member of the Academy for Senior Professionals at Eckerd College (ASPEC) Studio Art Group. MaryEllyn was an artist at heart with painting as a one of her life’s passions where she earned her designation from International Society of Acrylic Painters (ISAP). She enjoyed traveling to the many corners of the world with her husband, Bill, and captured the local character on her canvas.
She is survived by her three sons, William T. Stickley III of Cleveland, OH, John O. and his wife, Geraldine Stickley of Buzzards Bay, MA, R. Bruce and his wife, Kathleen Stickley of Wethersfield, CT. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Sage and Willie Stickley of Cleveland, OH, Jonathan Stickley of Amesbury, MA, Liam, Maura, and Rory Stickley of Wethersfield, CT.
Memorial Services will be planned at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
