Obituary for Joan Lynch (Dillon)

Joan (Dillon) Lynch, 83, of Wethersfield, loving wife to the late Philip Lynch, peacefully passed away, Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Glastonbury Healthcare. Joan was born November 21, 1934 in West Haven, daughter to the late William and Mary (Bing) Dillon. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Mineola, NY Board of Education, where she was the Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools. Joan will be deeply missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Kerry and Michael Zaleski; and her two adored grandchildren, Emma and Brendan Zaleski, all of Wethersfield.
Joan also leaves two siblings, Elizabeth Kelly of Old Saybrook and Richard Dillon of Florida. She was predeceased by six other siblings. Joan also leaves many nieces and nephews who love her.
Joan was a wonderful mother and Granny who loved to cook, bake, paint, draw and read. Every summer she picked blueberries daily and made delicious treats for those she loved.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Joan’s life will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 at 11am in Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter, 200 Executive Boulevard, Southington, CT 06489-1058.
