Mae Elizabeth  Pollard (Islieb)
Mae Elizabeth (Islieb) Pollard, 86, of South Windsor, form long time Glastonbury resident, loving wife of the late Gordon A. Pollard, peacefully passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at home with her family by her side. She was born January 22, 1932 and raised in Glastonbury, daughter to the late Clinton and Mary (Kowalsky) Islieb. She was a graduate of Glastonbury High School. Mae was a hard worker all her life. She held several positions from Department Manager at Mammoth Mart, Van Driver for Beebe School Transportation, to Caregiver at KinderCare. On her off time, Mae enjoyed dancing to country western music; was a member of The American Folk Music Assn.; loved gardening, bird watching and visiting tag sales. Mae’s greatest joy was spending time with her loving family; her four children, Mae Johnson, Joanne Corcoran, Tammy Coffey and Joseph Pollard; her six adored grandchildren; her six cherished great grandchildren; as well as her five sisters, Margie, Gloria, Kay, Madeline and Carol. In addition to her husband and parents, Mae was predeceased by three sons, Gordon Jr., Christopher and Steven Pollard and four siblings, Nancy, Janet, Clint and Charles.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Pollard family, Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 5-7pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave., Glastonbury. A Remembrace Service celebrating Mae’s life will be held Thursday, May 24th at 11am in Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home with The Rev. Cheryl Hoffman officiating.
