Thomas J. "Tom"  Mancarella Sr.
Thomas “Tom” Mancarella born March 27, 1945 in Hartford, passed peacefully on Sunday (March 11, 2018), surrounded by his loving family. Tom resided in Newington, West Hartford and Wethersfield. He is survived by his daughters Krista Mancarella and Kylene Mancarella, a son Thomas Mancarella Jr, daughter-in-law Kate Mancarella, and sister, Mary Mancarella March. He was predeceased by his parents Salvatore Mancarella and Katherine Gagliardi and brothers, Salvatore Jr, and Santo. Tom owned and operated Sam's Friendly Service of West Hartford and an active member of the Canicattinese Society, Hartford. Most recently, Tom spent his days helping others, collecting cars, fixing watches, and spending time at his son and daughter-in-law’s horse farm.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at UConn Medical Center and Foothills Visiting Nurse Inc for the compassionate care provided to Tom. Friends and relatives may call on the family Thursday, March 15, from 6-8 p.m. at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 16, at 11 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Section 27), 453 Fairfield Ave, Hartford. As Tom was a lifelong supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Researcher Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, he requested donations be made either by mail or online at st.jude.org in lieu of flowers.
