Obituary for Carol S. Hileman (Palm)

Carol S. Hileman (Palm)
Carol S. (Palm) Hileman, 81, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife of Jimmie R. Hileman, peacefully passed away Saturday, February 24 2018 at the Hospital of Central CT, New Britain. Carol was born October 24, 1936 in Omaha, NE, daughter to the late Leonard and Ruth (Magarelle) Palm. Her family relocated to California when she was a young child. Carol grew up in Los Angeles, she graduated from the high school there and briefly attended Valley Junior College in van Nuys, California. She met her husband Jimmie and married December 10, 1961. Before having their two daughters, they were very involved with their five neices and nephews. Jimmie and Carol moved to CT in 1976. They resided in Wethersfield for a year where they developed a lifelong friendship with Diane and Wayne von Hardenberg. A year later, they moved to Rocky Hill, where they have resided ever since. Carol had a fondness for early American antiques and historic homes. She enjoyed reading the Maine Antique Digest. Family excursions were never to amusement parks nor the beach, but to antique shows, historic homes and museums. Carol’s greatest joy in life was being with her family. In addition to her husband Jimmie, Carol will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer & Kurt Mansfield of Southington, Sarah and Richard Yeager Jr. of Rocky Hill; a grandson, Landon Mansfield of Southington; a sister Helen Pasnick in California ; four nieces and nephews, Marie Pasnick, Elizabeth Mattice, John Pasnick and Gary Pasnick. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 5-7pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Remembrance Service will take place after the visitation at 7pm in the Funeral Home. Interment will be Private and the convenience of the family. The family requests that memorial donations be made to either of the following charities, the American Cancer Society, CT Chapter, 825 Brook St, Rocky Hill, CT 06067, City of Hope1500 East Duarte Rd, Duarte, CA 91010 or the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111 in lieu of flowers.
