Rosemarie “Roe” (LaBruna) Cattanio, 84, of Wethersfield, loving wife of Maurice “Moe” Cattanio, peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Hartford Hospital with her family at her side. Rosemarie was born May 10, 1933 and raised in Hartford daughter to the late Salvatore and Elda (Moretti) LaBruna. Growing up in Hartford, Rosemarie attended Hartford Schools, graduating from Weaver High School Class of 1952, where she met her Sweet Heart Moe. They’re high school relationship bloomed into marriage. They started their family, moved to Wethersfield in 1961 and have lived ever since. Roe worked for the Wethersfield Board of Education at Emerson Williams School as a Para Professional Aide. She later went on to work for Around the Clock Answering Service for over 15 years working her way up to Senior Associate.
Rosemarie was a member of the Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Bud and Blossom Garden Club, and was a communicant of Christ the King Parish, Corpus Christi Church. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends.
Along with her husband Maurice, Rosemarie will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her cherished children, son Peter Cattanio & his wife Robin, of Rocky Hill; daughter Susan Cattanio and her boyfriend Albert “Al” Boada, of Wethersfield; a brother William LaBruna and his wife April, of East Hartford; several nieces, nephews and many close friends. In addition to her parents, Roe was predeceased by a brother Joseph D. LaBruna.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Cattanio Family Monday, February 12, 2018 from 4-7pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Rosemarie’s life will be Tuesday, February 13th at 10am in Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield (Attendees are asked to go directly to Church). Interment will follow the Mass in Village Cemetery (Hart Extension Section), Marsh St., Wethersfield. The family has requested memorial donations be made to the Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department, Co. 3, 2 Kelleher Court, Wethersfield, CT 06109 in lieu of flowers.
