Helen D. (Kushman) Puchalski, 97, of Wethersfield, loving wife of the late Mario Puchalski, peacefully passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Meadow Brook of Granby. Helen was born October 19, 1920 and raised in Hartford, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Mazur) Kushman. She and her family resided in Wethersfield for over 65 years. Helen was a very independent person and hard worker. Prior to her retirement she was employed by the Underwood Typewriter Co. as well as Colts Firearms. Helen had a huge heart and was always available to assist anyone in need. She loved to sew and cook for her family. Helen will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family, her daughter Stephanie Beard and her husband Richard, of Barkhamsted; daughter-in-law Rosemary Puchalski, of Wethersfield; three adored grandchildren, Dawn Beard of Barkhamsted, Marc Puchalski of Harrisburg, NC and Michael Puchalski and his wife Denise Falbowski, of Colchester. In addition to her husband, parents and siblings, Helen was predeceased by her son Michael Puchalski.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family Friday, January 19, 2018 from 6-8pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Helen’s life will be Saturday, January 20th at 10am in The Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Interment will follow the Mass in Rose Hill Memorial Park (Section 25), 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Memorial donations in Helen’s name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, CT Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd S #4b, Southington, CT 06489.
