Obituary for Beverly Nancy Kaminsky (Hughes)

Beverly Nancy (Hughes) Kaminsky, 89, lifelong Wethersfield resident, beloved wife to the late Benny J. Kaminsky, peacefully passed away at her home, Tuesday, January 9, 2018 with her family at her side. Beverly was born in Hartford May 8, 1928, one of thirteen children to the late Henry T. and Catharine (Scanlon) Hughes. She attended Wethersfield Schools graduating from Wethersfield High School. She and Benny started and raised their family in Wethersfield as well. Beverly worked as a bookkeeper for many years along side her brothers at Hughes Brothers, Inc. She was a member of the Wethersfield Historical Society. Her greatest joy was spending time at Clinton Beach every summer with her immediate and extended family relaxing in the sand with a good drink and a smoke, with many laughs being shared.
Beverly will be missed and fondly remembered by her loving family, a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen C. and Patricia (Callaghan) Kaminsky; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary K. and Thomas Lawton, all of Wethersfield; six adored grandchildren and their spouses, Elizabeth Aston (William), Patrick Callaghan (Meghan), Lindsay Papillo (Steve), Craig Kaminsky, Becky Zavarella (Luigi) and Brian Lawton (Melissa); five cherished great grandchildren, Chase and Sadie Aston, Joseph and Samantha Callaghan and Mackenzie Zavarella; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Beverly was predeceased by a daughter Linda (Kaminsky) Callaghan and her eight brothers and four sisters.
Friends and relatives may pay their respects to Beverly and her family Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 2-5pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Beverly’s life will be held Monday, January 15th at 10am in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield (attendees are asked to go directly to the church). Interment will follow the Mass in Village Cemetery (Pratt Ext. Section) Marsh St., Old Wethersfield. The family suggests memorial donations be made in Beverly’s name to the Wethersfield Volunteer Firefighter’s Association Scholarship Fund PO Box 290075
