Obituary for Jean D'Andrea

Jean Elliott D’Andrea, 88, beloved husband of the late Cynthia A. (Rowe) D’Andrea most recently of Glastonbury, passed away January 1, 2018. He was born on October 25, 1929 in Queens, NY, son of the late Romualdo and Jennie (Amabile) D’Andrea. He is predeceased by his brothers Mario and Alfred D'Andrea. Jean served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He and Cynthia later settled in Wantagh, NY where they raised their family. Jean was a wonderful salesman, working in Manhattan selling everything from shoes to suits to cars. He became a true entrepreneur and along with his wife he owned several businesses, most notably the Arden Gift Shop in Wantagh, NY. Jean was involved with the Boy Scouts of America, serving for many years on Long Island and in North Carolina. He was also a member of the Lions Club, an avid golfer and an active member of the Lutheran Church. He leaves, his two daughters, Leslie O’Rourke and her husband Shaun of Glastonbury, Lori D’Andrea of Coventry, and his son James M. D’Andrea and his wife Linda of North Babylon, NY along with his four cherished grandchildren, Lyndsay and Craig D’Andrea and Tess and Connor O’Rourke and numerous treasured nieces and nephews. He also leaves his caregivers, Nana Aboagye and Beatrice Nyamekye to whom his family extends their deepest gratitude.Friends may call on the family on Saturday January 6, 2017 from 11:00 to 1:00 at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave., Glastonbury, CT.
