Theodore "Ted"  Wantuch
Theodore J. “Ted” Wantuch, 73, a resident of Wethersfield for over thirty years, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Hartford Hospital, with his family at his side. Ted was born January 8, 1944 and raised in Hartford one of five children to the late John and Caroline (Oczkowski) Wantuch. He lived in the Hartford area all his life, attended Hartford schools, graduating from Bulkeley High School. Ted served our country in the United States Air Force. Prior to his retirement, Ted was employed at Northeast Utilities for many years. He was a very gentle and unassuming person with a great sense of humor. Ted will be missed and fondly remembered by his loving family, a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Steven Tonkin, with their children, the lights of Teds life, Gunnar, Reese and Taylor Tonkin, all of Glastonbury; a brother Chester Wantuch of West Palm Beach, FL; two sisters, Virginia Wantuch of Hartford, Mary Clark and her husband William, of Wethersfield; a niece and five nephews, Jennifer Dailey in FL, Paul Wantuch, Michael, Albert and Henry Lognin, all of Hartford and Stephen Wantuch in FL. In addition to his parents, Ted was predeceased by a sister Jane Lognin, formerly of Hartford, and his former wife, Susan’s mother, Jane (Lilliedahl) Wantuch. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 5-7pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Ted’s life will be Wednesday, January 3rd at 10am directly in SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Court, Hartford. Interment will follow the Mass in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section P), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. Memorial donations may be made to HARC, 900 Asylum Ave., Hartford, CT 06105.
