Obituary for Robert L. Schug

Robert L. Schug, 87, beloved husband of Kathleen Mikulski, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017. He was born on November 28, 1930 in Manchester, CT, son of the late Frederick and Agnes (McSweeney) Schug. After graduating from Hartford Trade School, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served his country during the Korean War. He attended the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles and spent his career in the printing industry as an offset lithographer. Together with Kathy, Bob lived in Wethersfield for 39 happy years. Bob had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. He had a passion for travel, art, cooking, and frequenting antique shows throughout New England. He spent his last year residing at Brookdale Buckingham in Glastonbury where he received exceptional care and compassion from everyone. His family is now comforted to know that Bob is finally at peace after his brave struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Bob is survived by his wife, Kathleen Mikulski, his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Joyce Mikulski, his brother-in-law, Cedric Hunt and his nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his beloved sisters, Ruth Hunt and Elvira Warzecha. Calling hours will held on Tuesday, December 12th at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Wethersfield.
