Joseph M.  Janowicz Jr.
Joseph M. Janowicz, 78, of Wethersfield, loving father and beloved husband of the late Patricia M. Janowicz for 35 years, died peacefully at home with family Wednesday June 28, 2017 after a short illness. Born June 9, 1939 in Norwich, CT, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Bednarz) Janowicz, he was previously a resident of Newington for 23 years and Wethersfield for the past 27 years. Joseph served in the U.S. Army Band from 1956 to 1959 and played the trumpet. Joe was an employee of Pratt & Whitney for 37 years in Rocky Hill and East Hartford, and a faithful parishioner of the Church of the Incarnation in Wethersfield. He is survived by his two children and their spouses, Kathleen DeBoer and her husband Dirk of Newington; Michael Janowicz and his wife Linda of Walpole, MA; five grandchildren: Trisha and Drew DeBoer of Newington, CT and Amanda, Joey and Luke Janowicz of Walpole, MA; three nieces, a nephew, and cousins. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 3, 2017, at 10:15 a.m. from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Street, Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday July 2, 2017 between 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, c/o Peripheral Artery Disease P.O.
