Obituary for Geraldine A. Seklecki (McCusker)

Geraldine (McCusker) Seklecki, 92, of Rocky Hill, wife of the late Matthew Seklecki passed away peacefully at home Sunday, March 26, 2017 with her two sons by her side. Born March 16, 1925 and raised in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Anne McCusker. Geraldine had a full life, which included working for the city, state and family business; as well as enjoying a variety of interests, from concerts at The Bushnell to bringing beauty to the garden. She will be forever remembered for her wit, dedication and unlimited capacity to give generously to her family and friends over nine decades. Geraldine is survived by her two sons and their families: son and daughter-in-law Daniel Seklecki and Catherine MacDonald of Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, grandson Matthew Seklecki of Essex Junction, Vermont; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Bonnie Seklecki, and grandson Evan Seklecki all of Arlington, Virginia, granddaughter Emily Anne Seklecki of San Diego, California; her brother and sister-in-law Gilbert and Maryann McCusker of Rocky Hill. She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews, Catherine, Deborah, Donald, Gerald, Karen and Kelly. Her family would like to thank the many dedicated aides and medical professionals that provided loving care to Geraldine over the past months. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 5–7 pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Geraldine’s life will be held Thursday, March 30th, at 10am in St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Avenue, Hartford (Attendees are asked to go directly to the church).
