Ruth (Brown) Abbate, 89, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of the late Daniel R. Abbate, peacefully passed away at her home Friday, February 24, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Ruth, along with her siblings, Raymond, Dolores, Richard and Marlene, were born and raised in Hartford, children of the late Raymond and Althea (Partridge) Brown. Her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family. Ruth will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her son, Daniel J. Abbate and his wife Joan, of Middletown; three adored granddaughters, Jocelyn Badgley and her husband Brian, of Plantsville, Emily Abbate, of Wethersfield, Keri Abbate Kemish and her husband Jason, of Kensington; a grandson Kevin Abbate and his wife Kelly, of Rocky Hill; three cherished great grandchildren, Paige Kemish, Brooke Kemish and Landon Badgley. In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was predeceased by her son, Francis D. Abbate. Ruth’s family would like to thank her devoted caretaker, Jody Pines, for her care and compassion. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Abbate family Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 5-7pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield. A Celebration of Ruth’s life will be held Friday, March 3rd, at 10am in Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home. Entombment will follow the service in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford.
