Aline (Bernier) O’Connor, 79, a resident of Wethersfield since 1959, loving wife of Michael J. O’Connor, peacefully passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 at Riverside Health & Rehab, East Hartford. Aline was born October 10, 1936 in Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Willie and Marie (Roy) Bernier. She was a devoted member of the Church of the Incarnation, a volunteer of the Winding Brook 4H Club, with her most important role being that of a loving, caring mother and grandmother, who dedicated her time to her family. She had a huge heart and was very generous and philanthropic, donating to numerous charities. Along with her husband Michael, Aline will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family; four sons and their spouses, Dennis and Dacey Holt O’Connor, of Colchester, Paul and Edina O’Connor, Michael O’Connor Jr., Mark and Gail O’Connor, all of Wethersfield; a daughter-in-law, Darcy (Turgeon) O’Connor; three brothers, Raymond Bernier of Rocky Hill, Normand Bernier of Farmington, George Bernier in California; three sisters, Jeanine Mack of Burlington, Annette Acanto of South Windsor, Murielle Violette of East Hartford; eleven adored grandchildren, Valerie, Stephen, Aline, Michael, Sarah, Kristin, Julia, Olivia, Madelyn, James and Rowan; two cherished great grandchildren, Austin and Isabelle. In addition to her parents, Aline was predeceased by a son, Brian O’Connor; a brother, Clement “Clem” Bernier and a sister, Rolande Millerick. The O’Connor family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Riverside, in particular, Debra, Erika, Yvonne, Demaris, Nicole, Tanesha, Reishma, Suzie, Joan and a special thank you to Cheryl. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family, Wednesday morning, March 23rd from 9:30-10:30am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield, at which time the funeral procession will proceed to the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am celebrating Aline’s life. Interment will follow the Mass in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section O), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Aline’s name be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
