Obituary for John M. "Jack" Biancamano

John M. “Jack” Biancamano, 72, husband of Shelley (Sposito) Biancamano, passed away January 1, 2019 in Hartford Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Hartford, he was the son of John M. and Rita (Blake) Biancamano. John was a graduate of the University of Connecticut, achieving his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and MBA. Through his career, he became Chief Financial Officer at Mount Sinai Hospital, Hartford Hospital and UConn Health. Most recently, John also served as a consultant for UConn and was on the Board of Directors for CHEFA and VNA Healthcare. He was a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. John was Past President of the Wethersfield Country Club and continued to be actively involved with the Board. He was a longtime member of the Church of Incarnation. John also served as the CYO basketball and baseball coach for St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Hartford, girls’ soccer and basketball coach for Wethersfield Travel Teams. He was a passionate fan of all things UConn, especially men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and football. He could also be found enjoying the New York Yankees and the New York Giants as well as playing golf, the game he truly loved.
More than anything, he loved spending time with his family. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, John will be forever missed by his wife Shelley, his three daughters, Lori Biancamano of New York, Kerry Coppola and her husband Michael of Darien and Kim Hrapchak and her husband Les of Glastonbury and his grandchildren, Sofia, Avery and Isabelle Coppola and Cole and Skylar Hrapchak. He will also be remembered by his brothers, Robert Biancamano and his wife Joanne of Wethersfield, Donald Biancamano and his wife Cindy of Colchester and Steven Biancamano and his wife Glenda of Florida, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating John’s life will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Tee of Connecticut at firstteect.org.
