Delsie (Fuentes) Antico, 78, wife of Victor Antico, Sr., of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Manchester, passed away November 2, 2018 in Norwalk Hospital. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on December 2, 1939, daughter of the late Roman Fuentes Colon and Carmen Marie Lugo Martinez. She moved to Bronx, NY when she was 11 years old, where she later met her loving husband of 56 years, Victor. After her mother passed, Delsie raised her brothers and sisters and became the matriarch of the family. She graduated from Cathedral High School in Manhattan and later went on to achieve her Associates Degree from Manchester Community College. After marrying Victor in 1962, they moved to Yonkers and later they bought a business in Manchester and settled there. More recently, they moved to Florida, first to Hillsboro Beach and then Vero Beach. Delsie was an astute businesswoman who helped run the family’s businesses. She was involved as an officer in the Manchester Republican Women’s Club and taught Spanish at Manchester Community College. Delsie and Victor loved to dance. She was an accomplished Flamenco dancer and even appeared on television dancing. She was a great cook and loved to entertain. Delsie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and her family was the most important thing in her life. Her most cherished times were those spent with her grandchildren; she truly adored each of them.
Besides her husband, Delsie leaves her son Victor Antico, Jr and his wife Coleen, of South Glastonbury, her daughter Kimberly Gordon and her husband Peter of Weston and her grandchildren, Stephen, Jack and Katherine Antico and Giselle Gordon. She will also be remembered by her brothers, Roman Fuentes, Robert Fuentes and Fernando Fuentes and her sisters Nelly Antico and Iris Castellano, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
