Obituary for Beth Anne Daly-Spitale

Print
It is with heavy hearts that Jade-Anne, Hunter Louis, and brothers Jamie, Tim & Tad announce the passing of their beloved mother and sister Beth-Anne on October 13, 2018. Born and raised in Hartford, she moved to Old Saybrook at age 18 with her parents. Her father Ernie Daly, and brothers helped her open up Shear Madness which has been in business for over 36 years. Shear Madness began as her passion and stayed that way throughout her career. Her compassionate heart and true love for her craft led her to go above and beyond for her clients. She was known for opening at all hours of the early morning to accommodate them. Nothing was ever too big or small for Beth to help with. Her personality was larger than life and she was a friend to everyone she came across. There was always something cooking at Beth's house, whether it was a pot of sauce for Sunday meal with her children or any other person who may have come along, her door was always open. She was known by friends and family for being the life of every gathering. Every holiday, birthday and celebration was done in grand style. Whether it was neighborhood children, nieces and nephews, grandchildren or her beloved twins she was always planning grand adventures and using her time to be with ones she loved. She leaves behind her children Eric, Emily, Jade and Hunter; grandchildren Sadie, Sophie and Henry; Nieces and Nephews Molly, Maeve, James and Bridget; brothers Jamie, Tim and Tad Daly and their wives Diane and Claire Daly; and beloved life long friend Michelle Herter as well as countless friends family and clients. Animal prints and sparkly attire are encouraged. She will be dearly missed. " My home is the open sea where the stars shine brighter and my soul is free." A Memorial Celebration of Beth-Anne's life will be Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11am in St. Mark the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 222 McVeagh Rd., Westbrook. A gathering will follow the Memorial Celebration at the Westbrook Elks Club, 142 Seaside Avenue, Westbrook.
