Obituary for Jean Riley (Brueggestrat)

Jean B. Riley, 86, wife of Richard Riley, of East Hartford, passed away on June 10, 2018 at home. She was born in Hartford of the late Gustave and Mary Brueggestrat on January 13, 1932. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was an avid reader and baker who also loved her crossword puzzles. Prior to her retirement, she worked in the registrar’s office for the City of Hartford. Besides her husband, Jean will be remembered by her children, Karen Daly and her husband Al of East Hartford, Timothy Riley and his wife Sharon of East Hartford and James Riley and his wife Jean of Amston, her grandchildren AnneMarie Kennedy and Larry Boyle, James Riley and his wife Cynthia, Sean Riley and Jen McDougal, Meagan Riley and Michael Riley and his wife Kayla, her great-grandchildren, Aaron, John, Danielle, Ava, Ryan, M.J., and Joseph, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her grandson Joseph Riley, great-granddaughter Cali Riley and her sisters Paula Brochu and Doris Zigmont.
Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Jean’s life will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Saint Christopher Church of Saint Edmund Campion Parish, 538 Brewer Street., East Hartford, CT 06118.
