Obituary for M. Gregory "Greg" Godbout

M. Gregory “Greg” Godbout, 75 of West Hartford, and Port St. Lucie, FL, loving husband of Patricia (Johnson) Godbout passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at home. Greg was born September 10, 1942, and raised in Hartford, son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth “Betty” Godbout. He graduated from the University of Hartford. He served in the United States Army. Greg spent the bulk of his career at Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford in the Accounting Dept, finishing as an Executive Cost Accountant. Greg was a devoted family man, who will be deeply missed by his loving wife Patty; his son, Martin Gregory Godbout Jr. his wife Terry, his daughter Eileen and her husband Michael Betts, his son Geoffrey and his wife Korie, his son Dana and his wife Melanie. His memory will be treasured forever by his grandchildren, Maggie and her husband Chris Piccone, Devin Godbout, Kate Betts, Jack Godbout, Thomas Betts, and Benjamin and James Godbout. He is also survived by his dearly loved sisters and brother Anne (Robert) Yurch, Betty Jane Dexheimer, Arthur (Elizabeth) Godbout Jr., and Julie (Peter) LeBlanc. Greg was well loved by his brothers and sisters in law William Johnson, James (Sandy) McEvoy, John (Andrea) Johnson, Maureen (Richard) Clemens, many adored nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Greg was especially grateful for the lifelong friendship of his cousin Carolyn Brovero. In addition to his parents, Greg was predeceased by his brother James, brothers-in-law John Dexheimer and Robert Johnson and sister-in-law Joanne Johnson. Greg will be remembered for his generosity, amazing sense of humor, and love of candy. He was loved by everyone lucky enough to meet him.
Greg’s family will receive friends, at the Farley Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield, Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 2-4 pm at which time a Memorial Service celebrating Greg’s life will commence. Burial will be Private.
