Life Story for Lillian ""Loretta"" Garrity (Church)

Lillian “Loretta” (Church) Garrity, 80 of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Thomas R Garrity Sr ; passed away peacefully, Wednesday December 27, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born October 22, 1937 in Hartford, she was the daughter of Douglas V & Lucy (Champagne) Church. Prior to her retirement, Loretta worked as a Librarian in the Institute of Living. She also worked hard in various capacities in support of her husband’s executive career with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 671. Loretta leaves behind her loving family, her sons Thomas R. Garrity Jr & wife Monica of Colchester and Scott Garrity & wife Molly of Port Richey, FL, also a son-in-law Robert Berens of Newington; her grandchildren Krista & Michael Kelly, Michael & Lindy Berens, Stephanie Garrity, Anthony Garrity, Jennie, Savanna and Jake Mazur, and her great granddaughter Kristina Kelly. Loretta also leaves behind a special niece Jennifer Schuder & nephews Mark & Nick Petrasso, as well as many other special nieces & nephews. Loretta also had a lot of special friends who touched her life. Loretta was predeceased by her daughter Risa (Garrity) Berens and her sisters, Trinity, Marilyn, Helen and her brothers Walter & Douglas. Lastly, Loretta leaves behind her beloved cats, Matty & LC, who she cared for dearly. Loretta’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home,
34 Beaver Rd Wethersfield, CT on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 5-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 3, at 10am at, Corpus Christi Church of Christ the King Parish, 601 Silas Deane Hwy, Wethersfield, CT. Interment will follow at the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery,
