Lucy (Graham) Flannery, 89, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of Kieran, peacefully passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. Lucy was born, March 8, 1928 and raised in Ballylennon, Daingean, County Offlay, Ireland, one of eight children to the late Matthew and Maryann (Keating) Graham. Lucy came to America in 1960, residing in Hartford until 2007, when she and Kieran relocated to Glastonbury and have resided with their daughter Mary ever since. Prior to her retirement she worked in the hospitality industry in Hartford for many years. To Lucy, her main job was that of being a mom to her children and wife to her husband, as well as caring for her entire family. She enjoyed many hobbies to include, knitting, antique collecting, dancing, being a member of the Irish American Home Society in Glastonbury, but most of all, she loved to travel and was not afraid to take a trip at a moment’s notice. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Along with her husband Kieran, Lucy will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kieran & Sherrilyn Flannery of Lebanon, James Flannery, formerly of Glastonbury; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary & Timothy Callahan of Glastonbury, and Patricia and Christopher Mooney of Fairport, NY; twelve adored grandchildren, Shannon, Madeleine, Emerson, Nicole, Elizabeth, Briana, Noel, Declan, Aidan, Matthew, Jillian, and Lindsey; a large extended family which includes many nieces, nephews and cousins, in particular Lucy’s niece, Lil Holleran. In addition to her parents, Lucy was predeceased by her seven siblings, Matt, Peter, Jim, Tom, Paddy, Mary Kate and Lil; and her granddaughter Roisin. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to Lucy and her family Monday November 27, 2017 from 5-8pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Lucy’s life will be held Tuesday November 28, 2017 at 10:00 am in St. Augustine Church of Saints Isidore & Maria Parish, 55 Hopewell Road Glastonbury. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, 17 Wickham Rd. at the corner of Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. The Flannery family requests memorial donations to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, CT Chapter, PO Box 718, Old Mystic, Connecticut 06372 in lieu of flowers.
