Obituary for Susan Loraine "Sue" Connelly

Susan “Sue” Lorraine Connelly, 63, of Hartford, peacefully passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Susan was born January 1, 1954 in Sapporo, Japan one of two daughters to the late Marshall Lawrence and Hisako “Teresa” (Sakamoto) Connelly. Being part of a military family, Sue lived between the US and Japan, attended Yokota and Tachikawa schools in Japan until 1970, the family moved to Holyoke, MA where Sue graduated from Holyoke High School Class of 1972. She spent a year in the Navy from 1986-1987 when she was Honorably discharged. Sue will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family, a sister, Kathleen Connelly; two nieces and their husbands, Leanna and Austin Evers, Tristina Connelly and Daniel Hall, three grand nephews and a grandniece, Jaxon Evers, Kylah Hisako Hall, Daevin Taro Hall and Dayton Jiro Hall; as well as her dear friends at Plimpton House. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Sue’s life will be held Friday, October 27, 2017 at 10am in The Cathedral of St. Joseph, 140 Farmington Ave., Hartford, CT 06105. Inurnment will follow the Mass in Forestdale Cemetery (Section 15), 304 Cabot St., Holyoke, MA 01040. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Plimpton House, 847 Asylum Ave., Hartford, CT 06105. Sue’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield, CT 06109.
