Noreen Marie (McGrath) Granato, 87, passed away peacefully Monday, October 16, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 6th, 1930, daughter of the late William J. and Delia (Devereux) McGrath. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Alfred Granato with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by three beloved brothers, Rev. William McGrath of East Hartford, John McGrath of Wethersfield and Edward McGrath of McLean, VA and sister-in-laws, Constance McGrath of Wethersfield and Helene McGrath of McLean, VA. Noreen will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family; her daughter Karen Tardette and John of West Hartford; William Granato and Toni of Batavia, IL, Stephen Granato and Jane of Rocky Hill, and F. Mark Granato and Barbara of Wethersfield; ten adored grandchildren, JT Tardette, Dan Tardette, Nicholas Tardette & Liz, Taylor Granato, Luke Granato & Katie, Catherine Granato & Nick, Elizabeth Granato, Madeline Granato, Jack Granato and Jay Granato; 2 adored great grandchildren, Samson (“Sonny”) Granato and Bella Tardette. Noreen is also survived by her sister-in-law, Florence Miele of Manchester, and several nieces and nephews. She was devoted to her husband and family and an active member of Corpus Christi Church in Wethersfield for more than 50 years. After raising her children, Noreen worked as an Administrative Assistant for 15 years at the rectory of St. Christopher’s Church in East Hartford. During her retirement years, Noreen enjoyed reading, manicuring her beautifully landscaped Wethersfield home, traveling, and proudly watching her grandchildren from the sidelines. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with Al (her sweetheart since high school) and their little Maltese who rarely let them out of her sight. Noreen spent the last 6 years of her life at Atria Greenridge Place where she enjoyed spending time with her friends, shopping with her daughter, Karen and being wined and dined by her sons, Bill and Steve. Noreen’s family will receive friends Wednesday, October 18, 2017 from 9:30-10:30am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be follow at 11:00am in St. Josephine Bakhita Parish at St. James Church, 767 Elm St. Rocky Hill. Interment will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section S), 1 Cottage Grove Rd. Bloomfield. To extend online condolences, please visit Farleysullivan.com.
