Migdalia (Garcia) Almedina, 58, wife of Luis Almedina, Sr., passed away October 7, 2017 in St. Francis Hospital. She was born in Cidrá, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Pedro Garcia and Marcela Rivera. Migdalia was very active in her community, a devout Catholic, a Eucharist Minister who took Communion to the sick, a leader of the Our Lady of Sorrows Church Youth Group and volunteered with the homeless and convalescent. One of Migdalia’s missions in life was to help people in any way she could. She also worked for 40 years at Konica Minolta as a Team Lead in Dealer Support. Migdalia was a great wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Besides her husband, she will be fondly remembered by her son Luis Almedina, Jr., her daughter Melissa Almedina, and her grandchildren, Ashley Almedina and José Vasquez. Migdalia also leaves her brothers and sisters, Pedro, Justo, Marisol, Carmencita, Marcela, Mariceli and Janet. She was predeceased by her sister Nilsa and brother Papo.
Friends may call from 10-11 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 79 New Park Ave., Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Migdalia’s life will be at 11:00 in the church.
