Joseph A. “Joe” Fabrizi, 82, lifelong Hartford resident, caring brother and uncle, peacefully passed away, Saturday, September 30, 2017 in Hartford Hospital. Joe was born July 1, 1935 and raised in Hartford, one of five children to Anthony and Anna (D’Ambrosio) Fabrizi and Madeline (Schiavone) Fabrizi. He attended and graduated from the Hartford School System, continuing his education at numerous local colleges earning a Bachelor’s Degree as well as becoming a paralegal. Joe was a survivor of the infamous Circus Fire in Hartford’s North End. He was employed by the State of CT in the Police Department of the Rocky Hill Veterans’ Home and Hospital, in addition to being a Union Rep, attending many meetings at the State Capitol. Having deep roots in Hartford, he attended Mass at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, in addition to volunteering his paralegal skills to the Charter Oak area elderly residents where he resided. Joe will be dearly missed and remembered by his four siblings, Robert E. and Patricia Fabrizi of Wethersfield, Arthur and Karen Fabrizi of Seymour, Annmary Fabrizi of Glastonbury and Sylvia and Jeff Steward of Newington; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition, he will be dearly missed by his special friends, Helen Norris, Susan Noel, Genevieve Bednarz, Dave Carlson, Stanley Gutt and Mel. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Fabrizi family Friday, October 6, 2017 from 8:30 – 9:30am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Ct, Hartford. Interment will follow the Mass in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section O), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield.
