Obituary for John T. Saccente

John T. Saccente, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of the late Frances "Honey" Josephine (Lombardo) Saccente, passed away peacefully on his 91st birthday, September 15, 2017, with his loving family by his side. The son of the late Carmen and Antoinette (DiUlio) Saccente, he resided in the South End of Hartford and moved to Wethersfield with his family 41 years ago. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. After his return from service, John was employed by the Arrow Hart Company for 42 years and worked his way up to a management position. He also worked for 20 years as a supernumerary with the Newington Police Department. He then went to work for Wethersfield High School for 28 years as a security officer.
John was a long time parishioner of St. Luke's Parish and a member of the Newington Knights of Columbus, Council #3884, 4th Degree.
John will always be in the hearts of his loving family; two sons, John P. Saccente and wife Paula of New Britain; Michael J. Saccente of New Zealand; six beautiful grandchildren, Jason P. Saccente of Berlin; Trevor J. Saccente and wife Danielle of Mahopac, NY; Deena S. Saccente and fiancé, Gavianh Cervantes of New Britain; Jack W., Maya F., and Eden J. Saccente, all of New Zealand. He also will be missed by his three beloved great grandchildren, Liya H.; Edward J.; and Mika F. Saccente. Surviving also are his special nephews Carl Saccente and David Saccente and sister-in-law Constance Boisvert. He also leaves his devoted friends Ronnie, Joyce , Cookie, Maryanne and Peggy, in addition to nieces, nephews and many other cherished friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating John’s life will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 10:00am in St. Luke Church, of Christ the King Parish, 66 Bolton St. Hartford (all attendees are asked to go directly to the church). Interment with Military Honors will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Section 28), 453 Fairfield Ave. Hartford. There are no calling hours. The Saccente family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John’s name to the Monsignor Bojnowski Manor, 50 Pulaski St., New Britain, CT 06053.
