The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Ann Matiash can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The Szkirka Family: Bohdan, Michael, Shirley, Stephen, Christopher, John and Kelly

Our families have been interwoven and share a bond since our earliest childhood memories of living together in the same apartment building on Jefferson street. The Matiash, Szkirka and Hrynkiw families were raised together like family. Aunts, uncles, cousins. Our parents were like new brothers and sisters, filling the emptiness of loved ones left behind after the war. Always being there for one another, sharing so many good times full of laughter and pride in their children. Annie, was a good, loving, caring person who had an impact on so many lives, because of what she said or did. Feeling loved and needed gave her purpose in life, filling her days with smiles and sunshine. It is with great sadness that we send our most sincere sympathy and prayers to Sophie, Mike and Mary and their families upon their loss of Annie, their guardian angel here on earth. May you find peace in knowing that she's still here, standing along side your father watching over you. Talk to them as you used to, feel their presence in your hearts and know that the Love you shared is never ending.
