Obituary for Louis J. Albrecht

Louis J.  Albrecht
Louis J. Albrecht, 86, of Wethersfield, loving husband to Doris (Modeen) Albrecht, passed away peacefully Friday, March 24, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital with his family by his side. Louis was born October 3, 1930, and raised in Hartford, son of the late Louis and Josephine (Rogers) Albrecht. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from UCONN. Louis served our country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement he was a Director of Underwriting for The Travelers for many years, was a member of The Travelers Men’s Club, the American Legion Post and the VFW. Louis enjoyed his pass time activities which included gardening, going to his children and grandchildren’s sporting events, family vacations in Cape Cod and Rhode Island and loved the UCONN Huskies Teams. Louis was a gentle sweet man who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family, his wife Doris; two daughters and sons in law, Barbara and Tom Smith of Shelton, Catherine and Daniel Smith of Wethersfield; three sons and daughters in law, Thomas and Nancy Albrecht of Wethersfield, John and Kirsten Albrecht of Cheshire, Christopher and Elizabeth Albrecht of Midlothian, VA; a sister and brother in law, Maureen and Phil Robenheymer; a sister in law Barbara Adams; as well as his twelve adored grandchildren, Timothy J. Smith, Lindsey Smith, Julia Smith, Brendan Smith, Ryan Albrecht, Connor Albrecht, Natalie Albrecht, Erin Albrecht, Colin Albrecht, Brian Albrecht, Leslie Albrecht and Heidi Albrecht; and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Louis was predeceased by a sister and two brothers in law, Kathleen and Francis Long and William Adams. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Albrecht family Wednesday March 29, 2017 from 5-8pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Lou’s life will be held Thursday, March 30th at 10am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield (All attendees are asked to go directly to the church). Interment, with full military honors, will follow the Mass in Village Cemetery (Pratt Ext. Section), Marsh St., Old Wethersfield.
