Condolence From: Alex and Lisa Wood
Condolence: Such a warm, nice, good person. We worked together for several years at the Journal Inquirer. She was always so pleasant to talk to around the office. I remember a time she praised one of my stories, then she won the Story of the Month award that month. She was actually kind of apologetic about it! I assured her that I was fine with it. Lisa has vivid memories of Betsy because she was always the one who went out of her way to make Lisa welcome at JI gatherings. We miss her!

Condolence: I was sad to read of your mom's passing.

I had the pleasure of meeting your mom and dad around 5 years ago or so and although I did not know them well, it was obvious that Betsy was a kind and spirited individual who had a passion for many things. Please accept my condolences.

Condolence: I was very sorry to hear of Betsy's passing. I knew her through her husband Ross and the Glastonbury Chorus. Both she and Ross were generous, compassionate community people. My thoughts are with you.

Condolence From: Emily Barey
Condolence: Dear Audrey & Paul,
My mom, Polly Barey, and step-dad, Steve Starger, let me know about the recent loss of your mom. Although I only met her a few times, I remember her being a very warm and kind person. And as an awkward teenager at the time this meant the world to me. She and your Dad would come to our house to visit with my parents or meet us out at Hartford Stage. I remember them as being fun and thinking I would like them as parents! I am so sorry for your loss and will keep your family in my thoughts.
Kind regards,
Emily Barey

Condolence: Betsy about 8 years ago after my husband died. I was invited to join a women's group (can't remember if it was a Book Club or just a discussion group) that was organized in the Hartford area, and she was one of the principal members. She was funny, generous, warm, smart and a really nice person. When she started painting her watercolors were joyous and beautiful; she was a remarkably accomplished person. I am so sorry for your loss. She left an impression on a lot of people, myself included.
