Ellen (Waters) “Ma” Grossi, 78, wife of Lou Grossi, passed away peacefully Monday January 30, 2017 in The Hospital of Central CT of New Britain. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Robert H. and Anna (O’Brien) Waters and lived in the area all of her life. Prior to her retirement, Ellen was a paraprofessional for the Bloomfield schools. She was a Girl Scout Leader for many years. She was “Ma” to all and her doors were open to 2 legged and 4 legged strays.
Besides her husband, Ellen is survived by three daughters, Donna Kingsley of Hancock, MA, Nicola Grossi of New Britain, and Susan Grossi-Hubbard of Pittsfield, MA. She also leaves her sister Barbara A. Waters of Hartford and her brother R. William Waters of N.C. as well as 8 grandchildren, Andrew, Jessica, Aliana, Rhianna, MaryEllen, Paxton, Hannah, and William and 4 great-grandchildren, Jade, Jacoby, Lucas, and Isabella. She was predeceased by her daughter Julia Grossi-Gerrow and her grandson AJ.
Friends may call on Saturday February 4, 2017 from 1-3 pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
