Jessie S. (Siwy) Tisdale, 97, of East Hartford, formerly of Glastonbury, passed away November 26, 2016 at home. She was born on September 28, 1919, daughter of the late John and Mary Siwy. Jessie graduated from Glastonbury High School and lived in the Glastonbury area all of her life, devoting her life to being a homemaker and raising her children. Jessie leaves her four children, James Tisdale, Jr. of Glastonbury, Jestine Meagher and her husband Karl of VT, Jeffrey Tisdale and his wife Lucy of Glastonbury, and Jonathan Tisdale and his wife Rene of East Hartford. She will also be remembered by her grandchildren, Pamela Thompson, Jeremy Tisdale, Joseph Meagher and Jessica Tisdale, and five great-grandchildren. Jessie was predeceased by her former husband James Tisdale, Sr. and a sister and 3 brothers. During her life, Jessie enjoyed gardening, game and talk shows and her four legged kids, her cats and dogs. The family would like to thank the love and support of her healthcare team and caretakers throughout her final years.
Friends may call from 10-11 am Wednesday November 30, 2016 at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury. The family asks that no flowers be sent. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jessie’s name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
