Anne (Bidlen) Nowadly, 96 of Fairfax, VA, formerly of Hartford, CT and Buffalo, NY, beloved wife of the late John Nowadly, peacefully passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Fair Oaks, Fairfax, VA. Anne was born October 18, 1919 and raised in Hartford, daughter to the late Michael and Pelagia (Grentus) Bidlen. During WWII, Anne was a graduate of the Cadet Nursing Program at New Britain General Hospital and started her professional career as a Registered Nurse at Hartford Hospital. After marriage to John and relocation to Buffalo, NY, she was a nurse at Buffalo General Hospital. She was an active parishioner of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Buffalo and a member of the League of Ukrainian Catholics. Anne will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family; three children, Michael Mark Nowadly of Cedar Knolls, NJ, Mary Elizabeth Whitkop (Robert), of Jacksonville, FL, and John Joseph Nowadly (Kathy Sullivan), of Houston, TX and Fairfax, VA; six adored grandchildren Christina Dziedzicki (Tony), DeeDee Bradberry (Jeffery), Robert Whitkop (Sarah), Stacey Whitkop, John James Nowadly, and Katie Nowadly; and three cherished great grandchildren, AJ, Fiona, and Eloise. Friends and relatives may call on the family Tuesday morning, October 18, 2016 from 10:30am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield, CT. A Ukrainian Catholic Panachyda service will be celebrated at 11:30am in the Funeral Home with Rev. Cyril Manolev officiating. Interment will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery (Section P), 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield, CT. To extend online condolences and/or light a memorial candle, please visit farleysullivan.com.
