Obituary for Marguerite H. Robnett (Henry)

Marguerite H. Robnett (Henry)
Marguerite (Henry) Robnett, 95, of Groton, former long time resident of Wethersfield, beloved wife of Edward J. Robnett, peacefully passed away Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Fairview Retirement Community. Marguerite (Marge) was born April 15, 1921, and was raised in Waltham, MA., daughter to the late Thomas W. and Marguerite (O’Hara) Henry, and was a graduate of Waltham High School. Marge was a US Navy WAVE veteran, serving in World War II. She was the first WAVE to serve at the Naval Station Alameda, CA. Marge and Ed met while in the navy, later married, moved briefly to Hartford, and then settled in Wethersfield, in 1953. They were together until Ed’s passing in 1980. Marge was active in all aspects of her children’s lives, as well as Corpus Christi Church and later the Church of Incarnation. She was an avid bowler, participating in several leagues, and a member of the Elm Tree Garden Club, making lifelong friends, from both organizations. She worked for the Connecticut Opera and later, for G. Fox & Co., yet her greatest mission was that of loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She will be dearly missed, and fondly remembered by her family, a son and daughter-in-law, William D. and Mary Robnett, of Tacoma, WA.; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Leonard Battiston, of Mystic, CT.; three adored grandchildren, Scott Edward Kroll and his wife Jamar, Todd William Kroll, Leigh Stanton Kroll; and three cherished great grandchildren, Landon and Hailey Kroll and Hunter Henry Robinson. In addition to her parents, Marge was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Henry Jr. and her sister, Norine Henry Sjostedt. A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating Marge’s life, will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016, at 10am, at the Church of Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Inurnment will follow the Mass / Rose Hill Memorial Park (Section 27), 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Marge’s funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield.
